Below is a brief description of the general process we follow when you hire Hobbs Home Building and Improvement, LLC to do your project. The process may vary slightly depending on the specific nature of the project.

  1. First Contact - We will discuss what your project is and when you would like to have it done. We will also discuss if you want us to complete the entire project or if you want to do some phases of the project yourself. Finally, we will schedule a meeting to review your project at your home.
  2. Project Review/Specifications– We will review your project with you and discuss what you want to accomplish with it. We will take the required measurements for the job and discuss what items you want quoted.
  3. Estimate / Proposal – We will provide you with a cost estimate to complete the job. You are free to review the estimate and to compare it with other quotes. If you want to increase or decrease the scope of the project we can discuss this and adjust the estimate accordingly.
  4. Sign the Contract - Once you are satisfied with the estimate and the scope of work, a contract which reflects the agreed upon estimate is signed by all parties. A good contract is for your protection as well as ours. We will then start the permit application process, if required.
  5. Schedule the work – Once the contract is signed we can work out a rough start date that is mutually beneficial. At that time we will also provide you with a selection sheet for items that you need to choose (paint colors, faucet style/brand, flooring, etc.).
  6. Start of work - Once we start a project, unless you tell us otherwise, we will do our best to complete it at the earliest date possible. This is to minimize the inconvenience to your household and to keep us from having to try to work in too many places at once.
  7. Project review(s) and Inspections – We will have project reviews with you at critical points in the schedule. These help keep us on the same page and minimize the cost of changes that you may decide to make.
  8. Final Walk-through – We will have a final walk-through at or near the end of the project to identify items that need attention, if any.
  9. Follow-up –After the project has been completed and you have lived with your completed project for a period of time, we will follow-up with you. The purpose of the follow-up is to determine what you like about the completed project and what you might do differently if you could do it again. We would also like to hear your thoughts on how we might improve our service. Finally, as a satisfied customer, any testimonials reflecting positively on the quality of our work would be greatly appreciated.
